We knocked it out of the Park!!!

Dear Fawn Families,

Our students and staff have really KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK and we want to celebrate their accomplishments on Friday, 11/22.

DPJH recently received notification that we have once again been recognized for continuous innovation in learning, teaching, and the school environment. We have been named an Apple Distinguished School for 2019-2022.

We also want to celebrate our ‘A’ rating from TEA with our staff and students. This rating is largely based on student achievement and we want to recognize the hard work of our students and teachers that went into reaching this goal.

On November 22nd we’ll celebrate Knocking It Out of the Park by hosting an Idiom Day, having a fun assembly, traveling to South Campus and watching a McDonald’s Invitational Tournament game, and providing some treats for the students and staff.

Your student’s ELA teacher will talk with him/her about Idiom Day and how we dress up in our favorite idiom and discuss their meaning during class. Please do not feel that you have to buy anything for your student to celebrate Idiom Day. There are many idioms that require little to no preparation or materials – a green thumb, caught red-handed, giving the cold shoulder, and many more!

Attached to this message is a permission slip for students who want to participate in riding over to South Campus to watch a tournament game on the 22nd. The ticket for the game costs $2 and students should return their ticket money and permission slip to their second period teacher.

We can’t wait to celebrate our successes with our students!

GO BIG RED!

DPJH
