Welcome to Deer Park Junior High ELA!

Welcome to our classroom page!  My name is Tammy Matejka (Muh-tay-kuh).  I have been an educator for 17 years and in education for 23 years.  I spent most of my career in Goose Creek CISD.  I have been an instructional coach at the campus and district levels.  I have over 11 years in middle school experience.

 

I graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in Pasadena ISD.  However, my husband and his relatives all graduated from Deer Park.  My children attended DPE, DPJH, and graduated from DPHS.  My daughter, Megan, is a Director of Suites and Ticket Sales for the Arkansas Travelers, an MiLB team in Little Rock, Arkansas.  My son, Austen, is an athletic campus coordinator at Highlands Junior School in GCCISD.  He coaches football, basketball, and track, as well.

 

I have a bachelor's degree in EC-8th grade, and a master's degree in Teacher Leadership.  This is my first year at DPJH, and I am so very excited to begin this journey as a Fawn!
