Hello! Here is a little bit about me!

I am a blessed grandmother "Mimi", mother, daughter, and sister. I moved to the Deer Park area from Chicago, Illinois in 1981.  I currently live in LaPorte.  I have two beautiful daughters, Caitlin and Caroline and three precious granddaughters, Camille, Parker Jane and Penelope.  My oldest daughter (Caitlin), my son-in-law (Mark) and my three granddaughters live in LaPorte.  My youngest daughter (Caroline) and my future son-in-law (Blake) graduated from Texas A&M - College Station and live in Deer Park.  The love that I share with my family and friends is my greatest accomplishment.

On an educational and career note, I attended San Jacinto College, Sam Houston State University and graduated with my bachelor's degree and my masters’ degree from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. My educational career began twenty-nine years ago at Lomax Elementary in LPISD teaching self-contained 5th grade.  From there, I moved to DPISD (specifically Bonnette Junior High) where I taught 6th grade Math, served as Math Department Chair, and/or Assistant Principal for seventeen years.  I then served two years in administration at Dabbs Elementary and one year at Deer Park Elementary before making the decision to transition back to the 6th grade math class here at DPJH nine years ago.   I am entering my 30th year in Education!  I absolutely adore my students and love being back in the classroom teaching 6th grade Math!

I believe that learning can occur at any time, at any place and at any pace. I believe that excellence is always worth the effort.  Quoting Mother Teresa, “I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things.”  I believe great things will happen this year with all DPJH Fawns!  I am honored to be your child’s math teacher this year!
