Who Am I?

My name is Ivie McGuigan (pronounced Evie), and I am the art coordinator at DPJH! This is my 25th year teaching and my 11th year here at Deer Park Junior. I am married and have two fabulous children. My first born is starting her 1st year at Texas Tech University and my youngest is starting his sophomore year at Deer Park High School. I am also a dog mom to a little Pomeranian Papillion mix and an American Eskimo! 

I absolutely love my job!  Getting to work with students and helping them find their creative side is so rewarding. We have fun in this class and get to learn about different art movements, artists, art mediums and tools.  My hope is that the kids will find what they love and then go home and recreate more art pieces.
